Wow, one week old already?

Wow how time flies! Can you believe it’s been a week already? That’s right, baby J is already one week old and boy what a ride it’s been! Sleep, what sleep/ That thing and I weren’t friends even before I was pregnant and it’s nice to see that really hasn’t changed much.

So, the joys of staying in a hospital after giving birth, just ugh! I mean, do these nurses and doctors have a special class in how to disturb a patient when they are sleeping so they can poke and prod you? Hell, it reminds me of waiter and waitresses that ask, how’s your meal” when your mouth is full, lol.

Anytime J finally went to sleep along comes a nurse . . .
It’s time for his bath
It’s time for some test
It’s time for some shots
I need to take his vitals

I mean seriously, can’t you guys do this when he is…I don’t know, actually awake? He does stay awake for a while you know, sheesh!

One day we really had a rough night and didn’t get much sleep at all until like after 1 in the afternoon. Sure enough as soon as we got to sleep all cuddle up I get this nice beep from the nurses station . . .

Nurse, May, can I come in and get your vitals?

Me, *grumbles curse* sure, why not.

Of course she then felt bad after she discovered that we had just finally went to sleep and told all other doctors and nurses to like wait until either I call them or they see the light on my phone is on, then they’d know I was awake, lol.

Now J definitely had all the nurses fooled and you think they would have caught on after like the third time, but noooooo, hahahah.

Since they kept disturbing his sleep to do some kind of poking and prodding on him, he got to the point where he’d show signs of he really really needed to eat…like right now! He’d really start sucking his fingers or opening his mouth really big and looking for his food. So they’d bring him to me and be like . . .

Nurse, May, he’s really hungry!

However, hahah, the moment they handed him to me, he curl up, close his eyes and went to sleep.

Me, Are you sure he was hungry?
Nurse, yes, he was like sucking on his fingers and everything.
Me, mhmm, sure sure, doesn’t look like it to me. Looks like he fooled you guys, hahaha.

Now for our time at home

Another night owl?
Ooopps, think I created another night owl. As if I wasn’t enough in this household, lol.

Baby J will sleep just fine during the day in his room or in his play-yard, but come night time…no way, forget it. I can’t get him to stay in his room to save my life for more than 10 or 15 minutes. Unless he is with me and we’re laying down in our bed, he will not go to sleep. He must be up with mommy. Hmm, think this may pose a problem when I go back to work, lol.

Daddy earns his *over here* blind sign from baby J
One day Jerry went to give J his pacifier and J like took his little hand and shoved his daddy’s hand towards his face like…over here dad, my mouth is this way! Hahahahah, this has happened twice this week.

The funny thing is, J does not do this with me at all. Kind of reminds me of my daughter and how she was when she was little with the whole blindness thing with her dad and I. She’d be one way with me and a completely different way with her dad. So for now it looks like J will be like his sister there, but only time will tell.

Baseball player when he grows up?
Speaking of that darn pacifier, I kind of hate that he’s gotten attached to one, but ah well. Could be worse things he’s attached to, right?

Well, we think he could be one hell of a baseball player if he chooses. The little guy can definitely throw the pacifier far when he decides he doesn’t want it. There have been times it’s at the other end of his bed or on the other side of his play-yard. And of course if we take too long finding it to give it back to him he gets pissed off! lol, figure that one. It’s not our fault little guy that you decided to throw it across the moon and we have to hunt for it, smiles.

music snob!
Wow, only a week old and already lets us know what music he refuses to listen too. Jerry and I run our own radio station, www.phoenixfirefm.net that has a family side and an adult side and one day we decided that we’d have kids music play on the family side and put that on in Jaydon’s room. Well, that went over like a led balloon! He was not pleased with our choice of music for him. He let us know in his way of course…by screaming, that that was not the music he was use to hearing and he wanted it gone and right now!

Another time he was laying in his play-yard and the live version of “Hot Blooded” by Foreigner came on and he screamed about that one too, lol.

So, that’s been our week with the little guy so far. Stay tuned because I’m sure they will be more!

It’s getting cramped in here!

Hellos everyone. It’s me Jaydon!

I is a growing boy. It’s pretty small in here and I needs more room! Is it time for me to gets out of here yet?

Gosh moving arounds is lots of work Ooops, sorry mommy, no mean to makes you say ow!

Hey, daddy turn that backs on! I was dancing to that! He turns off the musics, bad daddy bad. kick kick kick!

Haven’t my mommy and daddy figures out that I loves hearing the musics? I doesn’t know how to make them understands me any clearer!

Where’s did the musics go? They just wait until I gets out of here!

I created a monster!

From January 21, 2015

So, guess it’s time to write one of those entries that I fell behind on from last month in regards to miss Luna Moon my music nut!

From the moment I got luna on September 16 I had her listening to music of all kinds, country, rock, oldies and most importantly Shout Sister Choir because it would be a big part of her life.

Well, let me tell you I believe I created a MONSTER!!!

Wednesday evening of January 21, 2015 Luna and I were on our way home from class at Carleton University and we had to pass through a big open area where Starbucks is and Tim Hortons and of course music. And it was *loud* music at that. Also, not very good music, but hey apparently someone liked it, including my dog!

Luna was determined that we were going over to where the music and was no matter what. The moment we step away from the stairs she made a hard turn to the left and was going to fly right on over to that music and have herself a great time.

Sadly, I wanted know part of whatever it was they were playing and wanted out and to go home. Have a guess on how this battled turned out?

Me, Luna, no we’re going home. Forward.
Luna, *ignores me and proceeds to music*
Me, Luna no, leave it!
Luna, *groans and turns away from the music*
Me, *whew* Luna, find the elevator.

Luna takes 2 steps in the direction of the elevator and . . .

Luna, ha, fooled you mom. *abrupt* 180 turn and pulls back towards the music!

My dog seriously has no taste!

I grumble and once again try and convince Luna that we really don’t want to go dance to the music or whatever it is she wants.

Me, *leash correction* and Luna stares at me like I’ve lost my mind, but I have her attention and tell her to find the elevator.

Luna snorts and huffs her way to the elevator and we are nearly there when . . .

Yep, you guessed it! Luna goes flying around the wall that leads right back around the corner to take us to the music.

I swear I’m trading her in for a Poodle!

Me, fine fine Luna you want to play that way…*attaches leash to gentle leader* take that! Now, find the elevator.
luna, *long sigh and probably sad puppy eyes* and off we go to the elevator. Which I happily praise her and give her hugs and a treat while also blocking her way from trying to be sneaky and take us back to the music, lol.

But wait, the fun’s not over!

We got downstairs in one piece and I remove the leash from the gentle leader…mistake. I forgot that we also have to still get past the bar. Yes, the bar, which of course plays music! *sighs*

Luna, Oo, more music. Mommy you want to go in here, right? Right! *dives* to the right and into the bar we go.
Me, *groans* why me! No Luna, lets go home.

Apparently she didn’t like the music in the bar that much because it wasn’t that big of a fight to get her back out. *whew*

lol, hold on the fun isn’t quite over yet!

Luna gets mad at me
So, finally Luna decides that it’s ok to actually head towards the doors so we can go home. All the music is gone, no dancing for Luna…the poor thing!

Luna takes us to the doors we would normally go out of if I was going to take the bus home, but since it was freezing ass cold outside we were taking Uber home instead and that’s out a different set of doors.

Me, good girl Luna, but not today. Hup-up.
luna, *stares at me, then at the door, then back at me and doesn’t move*
Me, Yes, good girl Luna, but not today and I give her a treat to show her she was right. Normally ha this works well. Um, not tonight.
luna, snorts and I’m sure gives me a dirty look and takes a step towards the doors to go out. Clearly I have no idea what I’m talking about and she must take charge….*follow your dog* Isn’t that what they teach?
Me, a little firmer *no* with a tug on the leash away from those doors.

Luna, Darn human first tells me lets go home and I can’t listen to music. Then when I finally does what she wants and brings us to the right place she says no. *snorts* what’s wrong with her? *groans, grumbles, hmphs* I’m just going to lay here and maybe she’ll figure it out then! Maybe?

And she did exactly that. She plopped on the floor in front of the doors and stared up at me. *chuckles*

Not only did I create a monster when it comes to music, but clearly my dog has OCD or something. I am not allowed to change the door that we go out of. i can go in any door I please, but when going home it absolutely must be the same door. No ifs, ands or buts about it!

After laughing my head off and praising her and telling her what a good girl the nutcase was I did get her to see that I still have all my whits about me.

of course she probably doesn’t believe that one bit, but we finally got to where we need to be and live to tell more stories, lol.
